Holy shit! I can't believe it's been 10 minutes and I haven't mentioned that I'm vegan!?!! So, lately i was interested into pro-green lifestyle, and I'll continue it for a better future... not only for myself, it's for all the living creatures and planet Earth. I've been pescatarian for several years, then afterwards i became a vegetarian and now I started being totally a vegan and saw the good results of this great decision. And ever since I recently became vocal about it, many of the questions people around me (including my family) have left seem to stem from common misconceptions, or myths that surround being vegan. (which is totally understandable)
But let me say this: Vegans typically have lower cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, lower rates of Type 2 diabetes, lower body mass indexes, a lower risk of death from heart disease, and lower overall cancer rates. Science and research confirms that you don’t need meat to be healthy at all, in fact statistics point to quite the opposite.
No, your hair won’t fall out - mines healthy and shiny as hell. No, your skin doesn’t turn yellow or gray - mine’s never looked as healthy as it does now. No, if you eat right, you won’t get all skinny and weak, I’M HYPER AS FUCK!
The only difference between our pets and the farm animals: NONE
The only difference between animals who cruelty living in zoo, circus, rodeo and how an animal dies in order to serve those who consciously choose to eat meat, experimental or wear animal skin: NONE
There's no difference at all.
Vegans are often accused of forcing beliefs onto others, but that's impossible. All we can do is offer compassionate ideas & encouragement. Regardless of all the lies every country FDA, medical industry, and media force upon us- it is our responsibility to seek out the truth for ourselves, and make life change individually. Don't tell me "I can't live without my steak" Don't tell me "It's hard because [insert any of your excuses here]" Don't tell me "It's good for your health" when Science has proven the opposite. Don't lie to yourself that there is a "humane" way of killing a living thing.
For all of you who’ve asked me questions regarding being vegan, I totally recommend checking out the FAQ’s on veganuary.com!
And One of my FAVOURITE documentaries, I strongly recommend everyone to watch Cowspiracy! You won't regret it. This doc along with Earthlings and my mind has been blown. It's suggestion was a gift to open my eyes to something I have forced myself to be blind to. I'm now aware of how to truly better myself which is a gift rarely given, and in my opinion, less often openly received. (But that could be a different discussion) Thanks PETA for spreading awareness on these issues, and helping animals feels so secure on this planet, it's supposed to be this way. I love vegans for all that you do for the animals and the environment! <3
Nature has a clever way of giving you exactly what it is you really need. I don't wanna be that over-imposing vegan who turns off those of you who eat meat. But just like all the rad discoveries I make in life. (Underground art, astronomy, Buddhism, wanders, etc..) I'll spread the awareness and experiences of mine.
Whew, I must say this: second to my sobriety, eating a plant based diet for quite some time now has probably been the best thing I've done for myself - and hope that inspires any of you who are considering it!
I get so excited seeing so many people also learning about why this is so important - not just for the sake of animals, but for the sake of our planet's future! [P.S. THIS POST IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR VEGANS TO PUT NON-VEGANS DOWN, AS WELL AS NON-VEGANS TO SPEW HATRED ON THIS SUBJECT. So don't get butt-hurt if you're a dick to others and end up getting blocked, don't be annoying and fight about this shit in the comments.]
And it's already two years since I started practice more yoga and meditation, it's really helping and healing process, not for the body but also mind...Thank you for your care!
